About Us

          The bank was founded in the name of Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, the first Union Agriculture Minister of India. Initially it was the cooperative society named as Shri Shivaji salary earners credit co-operative society Reg. no. 101 Amt. with its President Adv. M. M. Patil. Who had an initiative of converting the co-operative society in the Bank and was registered as The Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd. Amravati. on Dated :- 27th of December 1973.

          In the first board of directors, in the Presidentship of Adv. M. M. Patil. Mr. Babasasaheb Gharpalkar the then President of Shri shivaji education society Amravati. and others Mr. K. G. Deshmukh, Mr. A. T. Chorey, Mr. V. D. Deshmukh, Mr. J. L. Ikhe. Mr. J. V. Mahalle, Mr. W. N. Mahore. were the pioneers for establishment of the bank.

          Initially the bank was working for the Welfare of the employees of Shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati. The employees had the facilities of deposits and loans with the bank.

          The bank had the inauguration ceremony of its first branch at Shivaji Nagar in the hands of Ex. CM of Maharashtra Shri. Vasantdada Patil in the presence of Mrs. Shalinitai Patil. as an Chairman of the inaugural function on Dt. 26th of December 1975. Now the bank is working with its 20 branches and a Head office at Amravati. The bank is having its own building at Daryapur, Morshi, Jarud and Amravati with it's Head office and City branch.
